Doro US Tour!

The Metal Queen is going to do a quick sweep of the US to promote her newest release "Raise Your Fist"!

She has already been touring over in Europe.  Here's a clip of some of the performance and reactions from her fans.

If you are anywhere close to a city she is playing in, I urge you to get tickets!

Here opening act is Sister Sin.  If she decides to do what she usually does, she will also include some local bands to open as well.  Tickets are super affordable.

There are more dates on her website: Doro

I'm still hoping she will come to Oklahoma or North Texas or even Kansas City, but it doesn't look like I'll get that lucky this time.  If you are one of the lucky ones near a show, don't miss it!

RAISE YOUR FIST!!!

Doro's new album is available right now!  It is also available to listen to via Spotify in case you are curious to have a listen.  Seriously though, she's the Metal Queen.  The Ronnie James Dio tribute song "Hero" is awesome enough for the price of the whole album.  "Revenge" is pretty frakkin' sweet, too.  "It Still Hurts" is another fantastic ballad with bad boy Lemmy.  Let me tell you, no one writes Ballads like Doro Pesch.  They will tear your heart out.  In a good way.  EPIC.  Then there's the German songs.  Good lord, how I love a woman that speaks German.  I love that Doro always includes her native language on at least one if not more songs.  Sometimes there's a translated song, sometimes not.  She finishes this one up with a cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" and it is haunting.  Hauntingly beautiful and kick ass.  Once again, Doro proves why she is and always will be the Goddess of Metal!!!!  \m/

Raise Your Fist!!!!

New Doro Album!

The release date is a bit confusing for those of us here in the USA.
Amazon has the single listed for pre-order with a release date of Aug. 14th.  It's also listed as an import. The single has the songs "Raise your Fist", "Victory", "Engel", and "Lève Ton Poing Vers Le Ciel". The single is available on Nuclear Blasts European site on LP's.  Several different ones.  Available now.
Nuclear Blast did have a release date for the album as October 19, 2012 at one point, but I can't find hide nor hair of it now.  On their USA page there isn't even a mention.  I hope they haven't run into some sort of issue. I've posted questions to Nuclear Blast USA's FB page, but they just delete them.  Pretty crappy.
Getting Doro albums always proves a challenge here in the USA.  I mean, we get them eventually via internet stores, but I never feel like I'm buying FROM the artists.

So, there is a new album.  When & where you can get it is still up in the air.  I'll let you know when I find out.    If you do like Doro, I suggest you follow her on Facebook if you do that social networking stuff.  Johnny Dee, the drummer, updates the site regularly with info.

Until then, here's a fantastic video of Doro guest singing "Mary Queen of Scots" with Grave Digger at last years Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.

NEW METAL!!!!!

Holy crap kids!  Lita Ford has a brand new album out!  You heard me!  Lita Ford!  The Queen of Metal!  Yes, I said Queen.  Doro is the Goddess.  Get it straight.  Amazon has it up for $7.99.  Not only that, but they have preview songs up, so you can check the songs out.  I-tunes also has it with extra songs for $10.99.  Let me tell you kids, she's rockin'!  Man, I've missed Lita.  She was one of my first crushes.  My Mother hated her song "Kiss Me Deadly".  HATED it.  I used to play the crap outta that song.  LOL.  Her new album is getting great reviews.  I cannot wait to get my hands on this!  I also can't wait to see her at the Zoo Amp in August.  I got to see her a couple of years ago.  It was pouring rain & lightning all around & she was on stage playing "Close My Eyes Forever".  That was pretty frakkin' awesome.

Guess who else has a new album out?!  L.A. Guns.  Oh yeah.  Love me some Guns!  It's also getting great reviews!  Amazon has it for $8.99 & also has tracks you can preview.  They sound fantastic.  I will definitely be picking this one up as well.

But wait, that's not all!  There's more old school Metal headed your way!  Europe also has a new one!  Yep,  Europe.  I know!?  Crazy right!?  Crazy awesome!

It's $16.99 (import) and unfortunately does not have previews on Amazon.  However, it's not even available on I-tunes.  Um, Europe, you sort of need to catch up with the times guys.  At least they have a Facebook page.

Wait though, there's more!  No seriously!  More Metal!

New Great White.  I know!  What!?  Yep.  New lead singer with the band now.  Unfortunately jack was having all sorts of issues & just couldn't put a solid performance together.  The new sound is actually a little more to my liking.  Many hardcore Great White fans aren't going to like the change in lead singers, but hey, it's not the bands fault Jack can't perform.  These guys are musicians.  It's how they pay their bills.  They can't let one member of the band screw that up.  Hopefully Jack will pull it together someday.  $12.19 for the album or $8.99 for the download on Amazon, plus you can preview the songs as well.

Oh, and here's a Youtube Video of one of the songs for you!

I'm not done yet.  On no.  One of my guilty pleasure favorite hairbands is back  Trixter.  These guys haven't lost a thing.  This new album sounds awesome.  There was always something Southern Rock-ish sounding about these guys that I like.  I know, they're from Jersey.  Their sound isn't.

$15.43 for the CD on Amazon or $8.99 for the download,  $9.99 on I-tunes.

And that kids, is all I have for now.  There is more on the way.  The goddess herself, Doro, has a new one out in August/September.

Doro Pesch

If you have never heard of Doro then you are obviously not a real metalhead. At least not an 80's metalhead. Though, even if you weren't born in the 70's, & you're into metal, you should know the name Doro Pesch. Long story short, she is the Queen of Metal. Oh, some of you may try to argue that point, but you can't win. If it wasn't for Doro Pesch, there might not be a female lead for Arch Enemy. If it wasn't for Doro Pesch there probably wouldn't be any female presence in metal. She has shown what it takes to be a successful rocker in good times & bad, never ceasing to put out excellent head banging tunes. She is generous to her fans, almost always signing autographs & chatting. She believes in the metal community and gives it 110%, if not more. If you are wondering why you haven't heard of her, it is probably because she is from Germany. That's right, the mecca of all things Metal. Wacken Open Air Festival anyone? My point here is this: If you haven't heard her, you should. If you like metal, that is. Now she's not a screamer like Angela Gassow from Arch Enemy, but she can carry a mean tune. Sometimes she's soft & sometimes she's hard. Sometimes she's dark, but there is usually some positive spin on things. If you like Fantasy Metal, Manowar, Judas Priest, Nightwish, Iced Earth, Hammerfall, or bands like Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Cinderella, Dio, Def Leppard, Poison or even Iron Maiden, Megadeth, or Helloween I urge you to go pay for Doro's music. You won't be sorry. She tours the US about every two or three years. Her newest Album came out Jan 30, this year and is called "Fear No Evil". I highly recommend "Love Me In Black" as well. "Classic Diamonds" is a sort of best of the best recorded with a classical orchestra. If you want to start at the beginning her albums when she was in the band "Warlock" are awesome. Her solo debut was titled "Force Majeure" and still rocks today. If you love Metal don't let the Queen of Metal be what's missing from your headbanging collection. Get her on itunes or go here: Amazon , CD Universe , or Half.com .

Metal Goddess Doro Pesch rocked my world!

Well, I tried to get you guys to go. I even offered free tickets. Too bad. I had the experience of a lifetime! I head banged with the Metal Goddess Doro Pesch and screamed my lungs out. I had front and center at her feet with T. She held the mic up to us to sing again and again, as we screamed out our favorite songs, pounded our fists into the air and and acted like we never left the 80's (which we haven't, so what?). Then what, you ask? Then we went to the tour bus, talked with her and she was gracious enough to sign things for us. T gave her a necklace that I hand made out of wood with her sign (Gemini) and she put it on and seemed really excited about it. She even hugged T and said "Thank you so much!" Man, I tell ya...I never have to go to another concert in my life...I will, because I love going, but I can tell you right now, NO ONE will ever top that night. The music, the fans, the venue, the friends we made, and the most gracious, down to earth, amazing woman ever to rock the universe. I was already a fan for life, but now...well hell, I'm already a fan in my next life.
