I planted these last fall and look at them now!!! Woo-hoo!

Coolest Mailbox in the Galaxy

Okay, I know I really dislike my Postal Worker, and I shouldn't be giving the USPS any time on my blog, but really, who could pass this up? I mean, anyone who knows me knows for me, this is seriously the coolest mailbox EVER!

Cool New Bender Toy

Check out this great new figure. There are supposedly more Futurama toys to come! not to mention the *NEW* DVD's and episodes on comedy central. Yippee!!!!

Gettin' off my butt

So, I have written and illustrated my first children's story. I am pretty excited. I have shared it with a few trusted individuals and they have given great reviews and welcomed criticisms. I am very excited and hopefully very soon I can post a page or two here. Next week I will begin sending it off, copy after copy, until someone picks it up. Wish me luck. It's about a chicken.

Get a closer look

Here is a close-up of the monkey with the cymbals in case you couldn't make it out in the other photo.

New Art Piece

So here is a new piece I finished. It's a collage. I'm not usually fond of this process, but this one just all came together in a matter of minutes, like the gods had placed everything right where it needed to be so that my mortal mind could place it in the right sequence. I really like it.

Ahh....another beautiful sunset

First one of the year. January sunset on my front porch.

Curb Side Mail Delivery

So, now the mail carrier is delivery the mail to my driveway. How nice. The rest of my mail was blown all over the yard. Keep it up mail carrier...keep it up. I believe it may be a FEDERAL OFFENSE to tamper with the mail, even if you are the one delivering it.

Momentum

I really wanna go to the Art Extravaganza that is Momentum this weekend, Jan 12th & 13th, 8pm to Midnight, 1701 South Western, in OKC, but I don't wanna go alone. I really need to get together with some people and be able to talk Art and Life and Death and Blah, blah, blah. Of course, it is supposed to spit ice or something this weekend, so it probably won't be a good weekend to do anything. I need PEOPLE!!!! Which is really weird for me. I'm usually very hermity. That's my resolution! To be less Hermity and to meet new people despite the 18 years of brainwashing by my parents that strangers are all homicidal satanic maniacs that want to murder me. Ha ha. Yeah.... Maybe I'll just stay home.

Oh! Almost, But Not!

Yet another attempt by our inept postal worker! Gee, I hope the USPS is helping keep my Identity safe. Oh wait, who's side are they on? The Terrorists?!

Mailman Can't Get It In The Slot

Literally. My mailman is apparently incapable of getting the mail in the mail slot. He says the slots not big enough. No joke. The mailbox I bought after having Identity Theft problems locks and was approved by the USPS and also recommended by not only the Police Dept., but also the USPS themselves. However, my inadequate postal carrier argued with me that the mail won't fit, and told me I have to leave it unlocked. Unlocked? How is that going to keep people from stealing my mail again? I told him no, and that his suggestion didn't make sense. Mind you, I got one I was sure 5 Magazines, a couple catalogs, and some mail could fit in. Also know , I can get it to fit with ease. It's not difficult. Maybe it's not in a big fist-full wad like he stuffs boxes (haha) but it fits, a couple pieces at a time maybe. All of it. With plenty of breathing room. Maybe it takes seven seconds instead of four to get it in there, but I have no problems. Of course I get paid by the hour...postal carriers make the same no matter how fast or slow they go. Take a look at the pictures of the great service the USPS is providing me as a first time home owner. To be continued...

W00-H00! Wizard World Texas!

Wow! I had a great weekend! Me and my peeps went to the Texas Wizard World this weekend and got a plethora of comics, merchandise, and legends of all areas of geekdome! (Thanks to Chuck for driving!) We got Aaron Douglas' autograph (Chief from Battlestar Galactica) and pics. I was having problems with my camera and Aaron made jokes about taking T out to dinner and a movie while I fumbled around with trying to get it to work. You drop the thing one time and then it just doesn't seem to work right anymore. He was super nice and very funny. A real down to earth guy. He sat and talked and autographed at his little area all frakkin' day and never seemed to get tired of it. I also got to meet a serial legend. The original "Lois Lane", Noel Neill, who played Lois in the 1948 serials, the 1953 series, had a cameo in 1978's "Superman", and this summer's "Superman Returns". She was very sweet and it was a real treat to meet someone who has managed to out live 3 Supermen. She is 86 but acts and looks much younger. Erica Durance should a cue from Ms. Neill since she couldn't even manage to show up. Luckily I didn't come to see her though. I also got to meet some great comic writers and artists. Comic legend, George Perez, Daredevil writer Ed Brubecker, artist J.Scott Campbell, artist Bill Sienkiewicz, and Devil's Due President josh Blaylock. Everyone was really open and friendly and we all had a great time! Plus we got Freebies!

Speaking of Feng Shui

So, ever since T and I set up our house according to Feng Shui, which actually started in the duplex we rented, our lives have been better and better. We both got raises, we bought a house, I got a car REALLY REALLY cheap, the fish aren't dying and I have won a couple of contests here and there. I usually don't fall for any superstitious CRAPPOLLA, but this, well, it's all about energy and flow, and so far it seems to really be helping. I think the biggest positive impact is having things set up to where you don't trip over them or run into them and having them make sense. That follows the whole flow thing which basically is the essence of Feng Shui. If you want a good book to start with then check out "Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life" by author Karen Rauch Carter. The ISBN is 0684866048. If you take that number into any bookstore they should be able to bring up the book to order if they don't have it in stock. Personally I'd go to Half.com if you want a good cheap copy. Try it out. If anything it gets you to move stuff around so you don't feel so stagnant.
